About OlimHub

OlimHub (OH) is a community-run, community-owned movement dedicated to connecting Olim people in an environment of trust, care, and mutual aid.

While many existing initiatives focus on the vulnerabilities of Olim, OH is driven by their capabilities, their “superpowers”: experience, knowledge, skills, connections, tools, and more.

OH is anchored in a strategy called Motyro, which is action-oriented and driven by genuine encounters. At its core is the belief that:

  1. Nothing is more powerful than people doing something meaningful together. Volunteering, workshops, celebrations, demonstrations, and many other intentional shared experiences can have transformative effects at both the individual and community levels;
  2. Communities, as networked arrangements, are the best environments for cultivating care and trust. Strong and diverse communities make society more resilient, and potentially more just and tolerant;
  3. By leveraging both existing and new collective resources (the commons), we can strengthen a community’s capacity for action – its ability to transform its own reality.

The figure above illustrates the main dynamics of OlimHub:

  • It all begins when people meet, discuss their challenges and ideas, and envision new collective initiatives;
  • These initiatives are then mapped and shared with the community as engagement opportunities (mapping tool, call-to-action tool);
  • People discover these opportunities and sign up to participate;
  • As these activities take place, they benefit from an existing network, shared knowledge, and previously developed community tools and resources (the commons);
  • These activities generate stronger community cohesion, greater well-being, expanded resources, new knowledge, innovative tools, increased participation in capacity-building workshops, and new ideas, closing the loop and returning to the first step.

It is important to emphasize that OH does not aim to overlap with or compete with existing initiatives. On the contrary, its goal is to provide visibility, connect people, foster engagement, and offer tools and resources to support these initiatives.

So, how can you participate?

There are many ways to get involved right now.
Currently, these are our available tools:
